Do iTune Films eventually become corrupt?

I'm sorry if this question has been asked before, but it's always been a bit of a puzzle to me so I thought I'd ask anyway.

I have an older iMac and have had to copy my purchased iTune films to a secondary Hard Drive to increase space of my Hard Drive. I figured when I wanted to watch one of my many iTune films on my iMac, I just needed to double click on the film on the secondary hard drive and it begins. However, my experience shows me that I actually have to import it AGAIN then watch the film. I'm glad to do this, but am wondering if you do this many times over the life of the film, will it eventually corrupt the film or decrease the films quality? I actually delete the film from the computer hard drive after watching.

Thanks for any imput.
