i can't drag and drop - help?

I am having problems dragging & dropping files on my new iMac using Lion (including my trackpad,wacom tablet & mouse). Weird?!

Example - if I open 2 Finder windows I am now unable to drag a file from one window to another.

Is anyone else having this problem?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.2), 3.4ghz i7, 256ssd n 1tb hd, 16g ram

I had a similar problem with pictures in a mail. The problem was that the files were protected. I copied the file with the context menu and saved it on the desktop. At least that should work! Maybe in your case the directory is set on "read only". Have you checked that already?
