First of all I'd like to point out that i'm speaking for every poor sod who has to sit through all of these posts, make sense of it all and try to help the people who actually WANT help and are not just here for a moan.
1st) You realise that Apple don't care what you post in this forum right. They dont monitor them at all, even says so in the terms of service you agreed to when you signed up. Also this media attention you speak of? Apples reputation for talking to the press on there own terms is legendary. It doesn't matter how much of a stink you or anyone kicks up it won't do any good so why bother?
2nd) The 'Senior managers' you talk about won't do anything. They'll offer to replace the phone and thats it. You'll get no special compensation from it so playing the big man and shouting at someone down the phone won't work cause they'll tell you in the most of polite terms to **** off. So dead end here.
3rd) I have an iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0.1 on the 9a405 baseband on Vodaphone UK and DO NOT have the problem. In the same breath i'd also like to point out that my best mate has a 4S running 9a406 on O2 who also, does not have the issue. So answer me this sir. If its the phone and its firmware why is it only affecting some of you? Lets face it, compared to how many phones have been sold compared to those of you who are ACTUALLY having the issue described here and not jumping on the old 'iPhone no service' bandwagon the issue in insignificant, especially when compared to the iPhone 4's intial release back in 2010 when it really was a problem. If it was Apples software or hardware EVERYONE would be having it regardless of network and model (All iOS 5 capable devices)
Have ANY of you actually bothered to isolate the issue futher other than seeing a few people on a website rant about it, think 'ooo this matches my problem' and joined in with the rant and moan?
Have ANY of you actually bothered to do STANDARD network troubleshooting such as
> Reset network settings
> Try the sim card in another iPhone
> Get your sim card swapped
> Deleted the IPSW file from your computers and restored the phone, forcing it to download new software and not use a possible faulty install
> Restore as new without putting all your garbage back on (3rd party apps CAN & DO cause issues. I speak from experiance)
> Contacted your mobile provider to confirm no issues are present
Yes this is a rant, yes i'm expecting a fair few of you to turn around and tell me to get lost and to be honest I welcome it. It will seperate the people who are here for a ***** and moan and demonstrate just how ******** they are, from the people who actually do want help which is what these forums are ment for!
Thank you & good night
