Changing iPhone 4S camera settings?

I would like to print some of my photos taken on my iPhone 4S and I don't think they are large enough to get a good print from even though the camera is 8 megapixels. Well I should be able to get a decent 4x6 but am not sure I can go much larger than that. Do I need an app to get better prints if I choose to print my pics? If so what do you recommend? I didn't notice any way of selecting a picture size in the settings nor did I see a way of changing the video recording settings either. I know the video camera can do 1080i but can it be switched to shoot 720p instead in the phone or by an app?

Alright I am confused again. I am making a photobook in iPhoto that has pictures that was shot with a Nikon D7000, a Nikon S3000 and a iPhone 4 and a 4S. When I import the iphone photos into iPhoto to add to my photobook, its saying the quality is to low to print. Should I import them into Aperture 3 and add some adjustments to them then export them back out to iPhoto? Based on what was said, I should be able to get some decent prints with the iPhone.

Pardon the pun, but there's something wrong with this picture.

Photos from iPhone 4s, as was said by others, should have more than sufficient resolution for a simple printed album, if you're using the rear camera and you're importing them at full resolution into iPhoto. Is that what you're doing?

What size are the photos in the album - no double-page spreads?

When you check the problem photos in iPhoto, what does it say about it's resolution, file size?

I've tried shooting with both front and back camera on the iPhone 4S and imported into iPhoto. From there, I opened them in Photoshop. They're both 640x480 - why are the photos in a lower resolution? I can't find a setting that will allow me to change resolution for Photo app.

Don't use iPhoto. Just import them straight into Photoshop.

No, I'm suggesting that I wasn't paying attention when I first posted this - sorry! I THOUGHT I had tested both front and back cameras, but in fact had only tested the front camera, which of course only takes 640x480 photos.

The back camera is indeed high-resolution. I recently purchased the MatteBox app and I'm now loving using the back camera - the whitepoint button on MatteBox was worth the price of the app alone!
