Ipod Nano 1st Gen. Replacement - status/follow up?

I submitted a replacement request on 11/13 and immediately received an email confirmation. Since then I haven't heard anything, when I check the status it days"diagnosis pending", is there anyway to follow up?

What country do you live in? I sent my ipod today, but I called the service dept. to inquire which ipod I would receive in return, and the service rep said I would get another 1st generation ipod back. Same as what I was returning. That sounded a bit odd to me, specially since I've been reading several comments from different persons stating they received the 7th generation ipod. So, I'm wondering if they are doing so depending what country one lives in. Does anyone know?

Today is Aug. 13, 2014. I just applied last week online to return my Nano 1st generation (I bought from a guy for $10!) and I had the FedEx envelope by the next day. I shipped it back (1 day) and I have a "NEW" (likely refurbished, but it looks new) Nano 7th generation TODAY. The entire process took less than a week. I am located in CA and the address I shipped it to is in CA. I am tickled -- this upgraded Nano is really nice. So yeah, send it in!
