"There is a billing problem with a previous purchase"

Everytime I attempt to update or buy an app or song, "there is a billing problem with a previous purchase." will come up. It sends you to the account information page and I just want to get rid of the credit card information but it won't let me. We recently had attempted to input an Amex card, but it messed up and that's when this problem started.

Go to iTunes on the computer. Go to STORE on the left and then in the upper right click on your Apple ID, select Account, Payment Information. At the top it will display Visa, MasterCard, etc... select None.

Unless you initially set up the account without a credit card Apple's policy is to require a valid payment method even for free apps.

What does a prepaid mico sim have to d with it? Te iPod touch does not use sims.
