Bluetooth Stuck Searching

I just bought my first iPhone for my wife and I. we both have the iPhone4 with the latest os update and we have an iPod4 with the latest os update. NONE of the 3 devices can connect to any blutoothe device or even be seen by other bluetooth devices. at first I thought maybe a hardware issue but I cant see having purchased 3 different devices and all three haveing the same issue, is this a software issue, what is the fix? Please help I use blutoothe alot and this will be a huge setback if it does not work. So far we have had nothing but problems since switching to the iPhone so needless to say we are starting to regret the change. hopefully these issues we are having are just temmporary. Thanks in advance for any help.

iDevices have a very limited number of BT profiles. If you are trying to connect to do file transfer FTP is not one of the profiles included. If you need BT this bad I would return the devices if you are in the return period or sell them if not and buy something that includes Bluetooth FTP.

Basically you can use BT on iDevices for Handsfree, A2DP (stereo BT), PAN for tethering and exchanging photos between iDevices, game playing or tethering, and Headset.

ok, I understanda all that but my iPhone cant even see my wifes iPhone or iPod. Shouldnt it see them and shouldnt they see me, none of the devices can find any other device (iPhone, iPod or any other type of bluetoothe headset or anything) it just sty "Searching" "Now Discoverable" but no other devices can find them and they can not see any other devices. it does not stop searching unless i turn the switch off. This cant be right. Thanks for the fast reply

No, they won't see each other. Since neither the iPod nor the iPhone can be used as a headset, external speakers, etc. they won't see each other. You can download a game, such as bismarck (Battleship by another name) and they will see each other through the game.

It is normal for it to keep searching while in the BT settings. Does it on all iDevices. If you are trying to connect to a headset make sure it is in discoverable mode.

I've played that game through iDevices so it does work.

Sorry, would have helped you with your rationalization if you had said something. Here:

No, Bluetooth on the iPhone will not work with headsets that you had prior to buying them and that were previously used other devices. You need to go and buy a new model.

Hope this helps.
