I am tying to ignore texts from a certain someone but everytime I get a message and I unlock my phone, it not only opens messages but THAT message. How do I avoid this? I've searched settings for an hour and can't figure it out

Wait until the message has appeared and the phone has switched off again. Then when you unlock the phone using the main unlock slider, you won't immediately be taken to the message app
And if it's iMessage that "reveal that they've been read" (which I'm assuming you don't want the sender to be aware of) then turn off read recepits.
Settings > messages > send read recepits.
How to "ignore" messages. I want to be able to unlock my phone without opening messages revealing that they have been read.
