Oct 10, 2013 6:48 AM in response to ateringcateringcatby topher1_2000,I'm the opposite of you, in that since iOS7, my album artwork magically seems to all be there. Ugh, so much inconsistency w/ Apple.
I can't imagine that simply downloading iOS7 would have any impact on playing songs on my phone or ipad via Match, but since downloading iOS7, my Match works inconsistently. It's taking longer times for songs to begin, songs are playing as if they are having buffering issues, and some simply don't play at all. Previously I had really enjoyed how well Match had worked for me in playing songs.
I've also had the imessage problem others have had, with limited success w/ the proposed fixes.

Feb 13, 2014 10:12 AM in response to Craig Vinsonby Stéphane Barbey,What I have noticed is that the ipad will not display .png artwork. So for all covers that did not display on the ipad, I had first to do a conversion & replace of the png artwork to jpeg. (You can do that e.g. using preview.)

May 7, 2014 1:41 PM in response to Craig Vinsonby J.A.K.E.,Hi guys,
Not sure how many people have solved this problem since this thread started, but since it's something I've both encountered and solved recently, I thought I'd chip in.
Like many others, I had a full library of music with artwork on every single track with some tracks refusing to show artwork on my iPhone 5S when iTunes Match was turned on. I also knew that it wasn't a picture format issue, because some songs in an album would display the artwork and some wouldn't (a popular trend was seeing the first song with artwork and the rest of the album blank).I was about use a solution someone posted here which involved deleting the individual songs from both iCloud and my library and re-adding them, but I tried something else instead which happened to work.
-Select album view on iTunes
-Find the album which has songs with missing artwork
-Right click the album and select 'Get Info'
-Clear the album artwork (this can be achieved by checking the box 'artwork'), then click OK
-All songs in the album should now have no artwork-Right click the album and select 'Get Info' again
-This time, copy and paste your album art into 'artwork' (this will automatically check the box), then click OK
-All songs in the album should now have artwork-Check Music on your iOS device and scroll through your songs allowing a few seconds for missing artwork to load--it should now be there.
I don't know exactly how this worked, but removing all artwork from an album and re-adding it appeared to refresh the cache, so iTunes Match now recognises the songs as having album art again.
Another trend I noticed was that individual songs that didn't have album art on my iPhone had the artwork tab missing when I clicked on Get Info in iTunes. However, adding all the artwork back to the albums themselves brought this tab back for individual songs, and subsequently they showed up on my iPhone.
Hope this helps someone.

Sep 11, 2016 2:52 AM in response to J.A.K.E.by Aguaman,I know this is an old thread, but the missing artwork problem still exists for iTunes Match AKA iCloud Music Library. Apple Support website's fix (Get help with iTunes Match - Apple Support) for this is to Get Info, then move the artwork to the desktop, delete the artwork from the Album in iTunes, Update iCloud Music Library, resize the artwork, Get Info on the album again, add the new artwork, then update iCloud Music Library again. It works, but it is far too time consuming and complicated to be practical.
A faster method is to:
1) In the Music app on the iPhone -> My Music -> Album view -> scroll down to the album in question and select the "..." to the right of the album -> select Delete From My Music. This should not delete the album from iTunes on your computer, but just in case copy the files for the album to your desktop before you do any of this and test it.
2) In iTunes on your computer, right-click on the album, select "Add to iCloud Music Library" (this option appears a few seconds after you delete the album from your iPhone). The album with its artwork should appear in the Music app on your iPhone in a few seconds.
This method is much easier than Apple's fix, but it is really only useful to update individual albums one at a time. For people with large music libraries an automated method is needed. If I find a fast method that works, I'll update this post.
