my status bar moved

Hold the phone vertically. If there is a small lock in the status bar you have locked the rotation feature. While on the home screen double-press the HOME button, then slide the strip at the bottom of the screen from left to right to reveal the rotation lock control. Tap it to undo rotation lock.

My wife's phone has done the same thing, status bar is sideways, trouble with answering incoming call as a result.

My wife's phone had same problem, try holding both the power button and the main home button down together untill the phone resets. Keep holding both until it shuts down by itself, not sliding the off button.

Not the problem, already tried that, and read the manual. Not locked, the phone will rotate from portrait to landscape but still status bar stays in landscape mode on lock screen and home screen.
