Adobe Reader plug-in and Acrobat plug-in are not compatible with the Safari 5.1 browser, which will ship with Mac OS X 10.7 and for 10.6 in July 2011. ____________________________________________________________________________ Procedure to Revert Safari 5.1 to 5.0.3 Credits to: Christopher Breen, Macworld.com 1. Download the following 2 files to your desktop: Pacifist 2.6.4 - A shareware application which opens Mac OS X .pkg package files. http://webforms.realtorlink.ca/webforms/documentation/Pacifist_2.6.4.dmg Safari 5.0.3 - Installer package for Safari 5.0.3 (Snow Leopard). This Safari version will also work on Mac OS X Lion if you have already updated your Mac OS as well. http://webforms.realtorlink.ca/webforms/documentation/Safari5.0.3SnowLeopard.dmg 2. Delete Safari 5.1 by moving it to the Trash. You will need to enter your Administrator's user name and password for this step. 3. Launch Pacifist, click its Open Package button, navigate to the Safari5.0.3SnowLeopard.pkg file you downloaded, and click Open In the window that appears, select the Contents of Safari5.0.3SnowLeopard.pkg entry and click the Install button at the top of the window. In the sheet that appears make sure that Use Administrator Privileges is enabled and click the Install button. You'll be asked to enter your Administrator's user name and password. During the installation you'll be told that some elements of the installation already exist. Choose the Update option. When the process completes you should have a working version of Safari 5.0.3, which runs under both Snow Leopard and Lion. All the extensions that once worked with Safari should work again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- Once you have Safari 5.0.3, please follow the instructions below to make sure that you will be able to work with WEBForms™. 1. In order to view WEBForms™, you will need to download and install Adobe Reader X from this link: http://get.adobe.com/reader Please ensure to select the correct operating system before downloading. 2. It is important to remember that on the Mac o/s, WEBForms™ is ONLY compatible with the Safari Browser 3. Once Adobe is installed, please follow these instructions in order to bring the Safari browser to a 32 bit level 4. Only Safari is the supported browser for the MAC OS X. 5. The Snow Leopard on your Mac has now brought Safari (and the entire O/S) to a 64 Bit version. 6. In this state, Safari is not compatible with Adobe Reader since Adobe is still a 32-Bit Application. 7. Please follow these steps in order to change Safari back to 32 bit. 8. http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/509/cpsid_50983.html 9. After you have done the above steps, below are steps you need to do for the Adobe Reader: 10. - Open Adobe® Reader 11. - Click on Adobe Reader -> Preferences… 12. - Under Categories choose internet and make sure that 'Display PDF in browser' is checked. 13. - Under Categories choose 'Security(Enhanced)' 14. - Click on 'Add Host' 15. - Type in 'webforms.realtorlink.ca' then click OK and then OK again 16. - Close Adobe® Reader and try to open WEBForms™. Best regards,
