why buy a macbook at an apple store vs best buy
I am curious of what the benefits are from buying from the apple store vs somewhere like Best Buy where you can get the same product for cheaper right now.

You may get a better deal $$ from Best buy, up to about $50 in the form of a Best Buy Gift Card. My first Apple was bought at Best Buy. After 2 years I had problems. I took it to the Apple Store and if memory serves me right, they sent it off to be fixed. They can do a lot of repairs in store. In any case I ended up buying another one through Apple and I did buy the extended warranty from Apple to which here I am 4 years later and have had absolutely no issues what so ever. I am now recycling both of my laptops to Apple and getting $500 toward a new one. Is this a coincidence? I don't know. Are the laptops handled better at the Apple Store? I don't know. However, I do know this much. I own a Lawn Care Company and I would never buy a Toro or John Deere from Lowes. They are not the same quality that they are from a Turf specific shop. Just saying.

I don't think it's worth the hassle of returning it to Apple just to go buy at "Best Buy." The people at Apple are WAY easier to deal with than BB or as you called it Worst Buy. What's $50 for peace of mind and no hassle.
BestBuy's warranty plan is much better than apples. Just a side note😉 ... But not for me because I dont by "extended warranty" type plans..
No, I don't either. But I think running a good service department takes more smarts and more attention to detail than any BB employee has ever manifested, in my direct, personal experience.
It's the same model? Normally the prices are the same, but BestBuy will try to offer a gift card or something else. I see no difference in buying from the Apple store or BestBuy I am sure the after sale service is much better at the Apple store and the sale people are better trained.
I went to the Apple Store and they certainly know what they are talking about. I decided which product I wanted and purchased it during their Friday sale. Now I see that Best Buy has the exact same product for $50 less than the Apple Store sale price. I'm hoping that maybe I will get better service if I have any issues since i purchased direct from the Apple Store.
Anyone know if you can still get the same customer service at an Apple Store with a product purchased elsewhere?
I bought my macbook pro 13inch from best buy and i can not really complain. i decided to buy the exteded warranty from geek squad for 150 dollars because they said that if anything happens to the computer i can take it in and they will fix it or replace it if it cant be fixed. a difference between buying at best buy vs apple store might be if you are a student. at the apple store students can get a discount.
I bought a 13inch there as well. I haven't decided on the warranty because I normally don't get those. But, I believe the warranty at Bestbuy covers much more... Like accidental damage...if you waste liquid on it.. Correct me if I am wrong, but Apple warranty does not cover that correct?
Becasue people who work at Apple Stores actually know the product. They receive training from Apple.
I have read threads in here that worst buy is offering lower prices on macs lately, but I havent checked myself.

Yes. Apple does not care where you purchased your Apple product.
Agreed. However, if you have had it for 14 days or less and you can bring in a current Best Buy ad which shows the same product at a lower price, I know of people who have talked to the manager at an Apple store and recieved the difference on a gift card. 🙂
You will get better service at the Apple Store. The employees there know a whole lot more than any saleperson at BB. You can also purchase the One to One plan ONLY at the Apple Strore when you buy your computer.
Thanks for all the replies. Shldr2theweel thanks for the infor about contacting the store. I'll check with then tomorrow.
welcome 🙂
