Parallels or VMWare Fusion are the primary solutions to installing XP. If you are open to installing Windows 7 you can also add Boot Camp (comes with OS X Snow Leopard and Lion) and no XP and Vista WILL NOT install on Snow Leopard and Lion machines using Boot Camp.

can i install mac os 10.6 then i do?
If your machine originally came with 10.6 or earlier on then you can install 10.6. If your machine is new then no it will not work. There is a slight possibility if you bought your machine shortly after 10.7 was released it may run 10.6 but I wouldn't count on that.
You CAN install Windows XP using Boot Camp that came with with Snow Leopard. I've done it. You cannot however install Windows XP using the version of Boot Camp (v.4) that comes with Lion.

I will stand by my post. I don't know how you installed it but it clearly wasn't a standard install. Here is what Apple has to say about it in Boot Camp 3.0, Mac OS X 10.6: Frequently asked questions click where it says Expand All Sections and you will see Apple is very clear. I am also going to make a request to the moderator about removing last your first and last sentences as they are (IMHO) a violation of the Terms of Use you agreed to. I am referring to where it says:
Be polite. Everyone should feel comfortable reading Submissions and participating in discussions. Apple will not tolerate flames or other inappropriate statements, material, or links. Most often, a "flame" is simply a statement that is taunting and thus arbitrarily inflammatory. However, this also includes those which are libelous, defamatory, indecent, harmful, harassing, intimidating, threatening, hateful, objectionable, discriminatory, abusive, vulgar, obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, or offensive in a sexual, racial, cultural, or ethnic context.
I was just pointing out that I did it and maybe others would like to know this.
