Same here, for about 20 or so minutes.  I'm very disappointed that the Check Services website never seems to be updated promptly.

Same again, was extremely slow earlier but now I cannot get into mail at all on my desktop (MacPro/Lion) but it works on iPhone and iPad....also the Contacts and Calendar are working fine.

My mail stopped working within that past hour (1000a - 1100a PST).  When I check mail on my iPhone, an alert box reads "Cannot Get Mail  The connection to the server failed".  The system status page for iCloud shows no issues with the system.

Mail just started failing on my iOS devices.  Contacts, Calendars are fine on all interfaces (laptop, web, iOS).  If they would just update the System Status timely I'd be fine.  But when they don't do that, I feel like no one is working on the issue - or knows about it.  I've opened a support case... I wouldn't say this isn't as bad as .mac to MobileMe conversion... but it's a lot more of sustained bugs, as oppose to large outages. is so slow sometimes, never refreshes correctly, and is supect to periodically outages.  It just shouldn't be this way period. No other service provider is so buggy.  I love iCloud (albeit miss a few features of MobileMe), but if they don't workout the kinks QUICKLY, I'll have to go back to GMail (bleck!).

I had to send an extremely important email to a client just as iCloud went down. This is unacceptable. Not the first time this has happened either. The difference now is that Express Lane doesn't even seem to work (not that they would be able to fix anything on my behalf).

Email has been around for 30+ years, and Apple still can't seem to get it working right, even when people pay for it. Now that Apple has removed features that Gmail still has, I'm trying extremely hard to think of a reason NOT to switch back to Gmail.

Philadelphia, PA. here, iCloud mail stopped working. I am guessing a server problem. 2:00pm here ( 1400hrs)

Spoke to Apple Support.  He confirmed the issue on his end as well, but even internally there had no memos of an outage or a fix happening which he said usually happens before the Service Status website is updated.  No ETA, but it's impacting "some users" across and iOS devices.  Disappointing.  I was in the middle of a business email as well.  Le sigh.

Oh man ... I have been trying for an hour to send an important insurance-related email and can't seem to get into my iCloud mail.  Get same blue error box as others above.  Went to status page but it said all is fine, so have been trying to find what's wrong on my end.  Gave up and came here.  I'll wager that i f Steve were still around, he wouldn't put up with all these miscues lately.

Im in NY and also having the same problem. iCloud email appears to be down. The other iCloud services seem to be working for me. Mail is the only one not working. from my mac in Mac Mail and Safari nor can I connect to my icloud email and on my iphone. Please fix this apple.

This is totally unacceptable.  It would be nice if we would get an email once everything is back on line apologizing and mapping out a long term strategy.  We PAY for this service, and a LOT OF US actually did the transition from Mac Mail to Mobile Me and then from Mobile Me to Icloud.  NO sense of customer satisfaction whatsover! Waiting on an important email today at work, too.  Total bull &^!$.  Are you listening, Apple?  Heloooooo?  I'm so ******.

Who are you paying for iCloud Mail?  I got a refund from Apple for's still active until June 2012 and iCloud Mail is free.  ???

  • MACCLASSIC75 Level 1 Level 1

Ohhh, and one more thing to add.  Apple Support Status Updates should be a LOT more conversational and elaborate a bit more in plain english.  It least make it seem like you understand how important email reliability is for us users!!!!

Their status update is a joke:

And trust me, this is from a LONG TIME Apple supporter.

More comments about the outage here (although no resolution)...
