Possible to watch wmv files on iPad?

I'm new to iPad. Is it possible to watch windows media player files (wmv) on iPad? Thanks in advance!

You can not watch the WMV videos using the iPad's Videos App. I suggest you search the iTunes App store for a WMV viewer.


One alternative is to convert the WMV files on your computer. The iPad can play M4V and MP4 videos. One program that can convert to these formats, is HandBrake. HandBrake is a free program available for both PC and Macintosh at <Download it now.>.

On a mac computer, there is a flip for mac plugin. the player part is free, the 'pro' it might be called is pay. I know I can get my quicktime pro and mpegstreamclip to convert mov to wmv and vice versa, but it's been years since it was installed so I can't recall if the play plugin is all it needs or if you need the pay plugin.


Probably easier to find an app that'll play .wmv files
