You might be surprised at whom I'm addressing, and why.

But I understand you're focused on you, and that's fine. Thanks for responding. I hoped to generate a discussion about this issue, with the aim of finding a solution - or forcing one.

As was noted in the intro material presented to you when you registered here, these forums are setup as user-to-user forums, so submitting an attack post like yours is a waste of time - yours and ours. Mulligans missus gave the correct response for registering a complaint - use the Feedback form(s).

I noted that my time was wasted, yes. Because I read the forum rules and didn't see the only rule that matters. It makes all the other rules redundant. But I understand, the logic behind obsufucating when it comes to (redundant) fine print. I respect the rules of the House, even if they are - restrictive.

I don't set out to break them but then you must understand, dignity forces me to respond, with dignity and honesty and ethics and truth. And if those things are against the Law, then…it's a tough spot innit?

Just for the sake of civility I'll pretend you don't understand that the reason I don't insult you with questions that I already know the answers to, is to preclude the temptation for people to insult me by responding with answers like…your one. For example. But ignorance is not the only reason to post, right?

I mean, just because I already know the answers, doesn't mean I should keep that information to myself, right? It seems as if you believe I should. Is that what you believe?

To do that, go to System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy and drag the icon for each such volume into the list.

I apologise for being so gracious, but unless I'm mistaken, you're suggesting that I corrupt my drives in order to avoid rampant and wild corruption that affects every drive it can - before the drives are even…mounted?!

I must be mistaken. If so, I apologise. Because you wouldn't 'advise' such a ludicrous thing, surely? I'm sure there's a logical explanation for why you would. Pray tell, how do I protect this drive from being corrupted, whilst I acquire this icon and drag it into "Privacy" in order to - halt (hopefully) - the unjustified, manacial, hijacking of every drive (before they're even mounted)?

Privacy. That's a cute word. Like I could possibly care about it. You could watch me and keep track of my files, but you'd be bored out of your mind. I care only for the creeping, slinking, shivering fiddling - to keep it's hands off of my drives. I don't even mind the fiddling - or I wouldn't, if Apple could produce an operating system that operates a new MacBook Air.

Yes, I understand they could. Just not for me, it seems. I'm just impossibly unlucky, to run up against IT geniuses who've never come across a computer before. Unlucky, yes. For 10 months. 17 systems destroyed. 6 figures destroyed. Hundreds of employed experts. Thousands of lies. A career. A girlfriend. My will to live.

I tried your non-solution for some already-corrupted drives. I make lemonade, out of lemons - but only when I can. Please advise on Plan C, for corrupted drives I don't wish to keep "private" lol. I wish to keep them functional, you dig?

Because you prefer questions when spoken to, allow me to offer an olive branch in the form of a bunch of some genuine queries…

What is fseventsd (I'm assuming "Filesystem events daemon"?) and how does it benefit me? Surely Apple wouldn't want me to endure unnecessary functionality which doesn't benefit me - because that could only be an exploitable breakdown of Pros v Cons, right?

How do I get rid of all indexing - completely? I don't want a DirectoryStore and I definitely don't want a reverse one.

I would Google all this, because I adore search engines and I live to read, and I'm not being ironical. But surely you must appreciate, the Internet is full of people who are intelligence-challenged.

I don't think I'm being offensive, by being ridiculously generous. Because I don't really think they're challenged by complexity; I suspect they never got their heads around ethics. So after 10 months of bleeding my eyes on IT, I literally only see intelligent writing coming from this one newb. Who points out that emporers are naked. When they're naked.

And that everyone pretending to be stupid, are really only hurting themselves - but I understand, you all have important vested interests, which aren't in humanity's best interests. Which means they're not in yours.

Stuff like this is so creepy. Can someone tell me what all this creepy corruption is about, and how I unhand my systems from all this caring indexing, writing to virtual ramdisks, Microsoft Directory Services filth, and christ knows what else I'm unable to spot at first glance.
