Help! MMS Video & Google Chrome
Hey all, I am taking some online college classes and need to be able to access some MMS files. This particular class the instructor has really did a good job with giving instructions on how to make your Mac work with everything. Following the instructions I can get the website to open in Firefox; however, I prefer to keep using Chrome as my default browser, if possible.
Any ideas? I have Flip4Mac and QT7 installed. Running Lion OS X 10.7.2.

When I open in Chrome, I just see spinning waiting for it to load. Below are the instructions he posted regarding the Firefox fix:

Windows media video (WMV). The fix is relatively simple. Follow the steps below.
Step 1: If you have installed Perian, you should uninstall Perian because it containsa video codec that is producing a conflict. To uninstall Perian, go to SystemPreferences and the “Other” category toward the bottom. Right-click the Perianpreference pane and select “Remove “Perian” Preference Pane”
Step 2. If you have not already installed Microsoft’s Flip4Mac, go to the followingWeb address and do so:

Step 4: Open Firefox and under the Firefox menu, select Preferences, then clickApplications. If you have already install Flip4Mac, you should see a window thatlooks something like this:

Step 5: Scroll down to the Content Type named mms, and in the right column ofthat line click on the drop-down menu and select Use other...
Step 6: A window will open titled Select Helper Application. Navigate to theUtilities folder on your Mac and select QuickTime Player 7 (not the regularQuickTime Player).
Step 7. Close Firefox, save any documents you had open, and restart your Mac.
Step 8: After your Mac has completely restarted, open Firefox and sign on to ourclass Blackboard site. Click on any of the videos and QuickTime Player 7 shouldautomatically open. Click the start arrow. Or, in the QuickTime Player 7 preferences,you can select the “Automatically play movies when opened” option if you wantvideos to start playing automatically.
