Jul 29, 2012 7:50 AM in response to macbookpro_tasmaniaby IzzyJG99,Tasmania, just delete the song which isn't playing all the way through. Then go back to your "Purchased" list in the iTunes Music Store. Re-download it. It'll be fine. That right now is the only way to fix purchased songs that are messed up. Delete and re-download.

Jul 29, 2012 4:16 PM in response to edwardfrommoseleyby oelbrenner, having this exact problem.. latest version of itunes and Mountian Lion.
almost all songs purchased via itunes are chopped off.
what seems to trigger it for me at least is using the "download all" button for icloud.
if I download the songs individually they are completley downloaded.
apple need to fix this, this is really bad.

Jul 30, 2012 11:09 AM in response to edwardfrommoseleyby restre,Well I managed to find another workaround this issue. If I'm repeating any solutions I do apologize.
I just identified the songs that we're damaged or didn't play all the way through.
Then I selected them all, then right clicked and then clicked on Create ACC version. After that process was done, I completely erased the damaged songs from my PC and iCloud, so the ACC versions of those songs remained.
Then I just re-uploaded them to iTunes Match and resynced.
Everything is workin quite fine for me.
Hope this helps anyone!

Aug 1, 2012 4:59 PM in response to edwardfrommoseleyby Dryvlyne,I believe I have a fix. On the Downloads screen in iTunes simply uncheck the box at the bottom left that says "Allow simultaneous downloads". Next, delete any of the affected songs from your library and then re-download them from iCloud and songs should no longer abruptly cutoff or jump to the next song. Read on for my complete story.
I recently subscribed to iTunes Match, deleted all of my songs that matched, and then re-downloaded them from iCloud in order to have a higher bitrate copy of my songs (as I suspect many others have done). I spent 2-3 days going through this process (I have 1800+ songs in my library) and would re-download my songs in 100-150 chunks at a time. Unfortunately, I noticed after re-syncing my songs last night to my iPad that a vast majority of the songs were abruptly cutting off or jumping to the next song.
When I got home from work I started searching the Internet and found many others were reporting a similar issue and ended up stumbling upon this thread. Upon some experimentation I determined that if I deleted an affected song from my library and re-downloaded it by itself that it was fine. Next, I tried this process again, but with several songs at once and had the same problem. Finally, I tried this process again with multiple songs, but this time noticed the option on the Downloads screen to "Allow simultaneous downloads" and unchecked it. Ever since doing that all of the songs that I've re-downloaded in bulk have been fine.
Unfortunately, I've been unable to figure out an easy way to identify the affected songs in my library short of literally playing each one and immediately trying to skip towards the end of the song to see if it abruptly goes to the next song. So I'm now in the midst of going through and re-downloading all of my matched songs from iCloud in chunks and then quickly spot checking them afterwards before queuing up my next batch of re-downloads.

Aug 9, 2012 8:09 AM in response to edwardfrommoseleyby Alberic,I am having the same problem. I just loaded my entire iTunes library to my new MacBook Air and it seems that at random, songs are truncated with less than a minute of play left and it jumps to the next song. Very frustrating.

Aug 11, 2012 2:28 AM in response to edwardfrommoseleyby Alberic,I have 7,000 songs (over 20 days of music) and many of them are clipped off. It could take weeks or months to go through all of them to see which ones are clipped and to individually delete them and reload them from "purchased" but the bigger problem is what to do with the ones I burned from my CD (thousands of songs). Do I need to reburn all of my CDs? And now that I have a MacBook Air, I no longer have a CD burner on the computer itself. I would need to go out and buy one. Apple needs to find a fix to this or else I am inclined to ditch iTunes and use another music player/MP3 player that doesn't have these problems.
-
Aug 11, 2012 7:33 AM in response to Albericby IzzyJG99,Yes, Alberic. You would have to reimport all of your CD's into your library to fix the problem. Even with the 8 and 12 speed Superdrives that Apple puts into their iMac's...it still took me about 4 hours to import around 30 CD's.

Aug 18, 2012 12:32 PM in response to edwardfrommoseleyby FlashFrick,Wow, same problem except I don't have Match. I use a PC, iTunes 10.6 and it has happened across my iPads (2&3) and my iPhones (4 & 4S). I'll look at deleting and redownloading my recent iTunes purchases - I haven't noticed it on my older tracks. I don't have time for this and it is extrememly frustrating given how much we pay to have these Apple devices. Apple needs to get a fix out pronto,

Aug 18, 2012 1:54 PM in response to pdandbdby bp33,This solution did NOT work for me.
Besides, it does not eliminate the problem with any new songs that are imported.
I only have this problem with CDs burned from my iTunes playlists.
All songs play fine in iTunes.

Aug 18, 2012 6:49 PM in response to edwardfrommoseleyby Zebra999,I think there may be a number of problems here which is why not all solutions work every time. I dont have "match" turned on and all the songs were corrupted from the first time I played them. I have fixed some songs by deleting and then downloading again. You dont have to go through the complicated way just go back to iTunes and try and download it and it will ask if you want to do this for free.
But as well I had 8 Bob Dylan songas from 4 albums I had downloaded and this method didnt work. So I contacted iTunes and told them where the "degrading" (their term) happened. It turns out the original files were corrupted and so they replaced them on their server. Now they are fine. So if none of the methods mentioned here work (and I'd advise caution before using RubberDucky's as you may lose some art work) then contact iTunes via their feedback form and they will follow up within a couple of days. They also sent me credits for 4 songs though I had to request some compensation for the time I spent tracking them down and the timings. On a $/hr basis it was pretty lousy but better than nothing.
