Apr 18, 2012 7:51 PM in response to edwardfrommoseleyby lchutny,I too have this problem, in iTunes on my Mac. If I play the song from Finder, it works fine. Unfortunately, the same problem is on all our Nanos now too because we update them from iTunes. I don't have time to mess around with this issue, I hope there is a fix soon.

thank you.

Apr 22, 2012 10:36 AM in response to edwardfrommoseleyby eyedocpa,Having the same problem as everyone else. After last update, purchased songs from Itunes end prematurely and skip to the next song. Problem exists on my computer and my IPhone. Very frustrating to see this has been going on for months and Apple offers no help or fixes to a problem they created. Crazy!

Apr 22, 2012 10:42 AM in response to eyedocpaby Scenario,I reported this bug to Apple under report #11251142. Their support engineers acted as if they were unaware of this issue, and insinuated that it was a problem with my network.

Apr 22, 2012 10:54 AM in response to Scenarioby eyedocpa,Scenario, does Apple's response mean that all of these people have this same problem because we are all on the same network? (We are not!) The Apple store states there will be a new update April 29. However, I am not confident any help will be there. This problem dates back to at least Nov. 2010. There have been a couple updates since then yet the problem still exists. This is not good!

Apr 22, 2012 11:01 AM in response to eyedocpaby Scenario,No, of course not. I have a 20 Mbps Internet connection and no significant problems with other networking apps, online games, etc. This is clearly a major bug on Apple's side. I was just pointing out that the person who responded to my bug report was playing a little bit dumb.

Apr 23, 2012 5:51 AM in response to edwardfrommoseleyby Kaspar Manz,Same problem here.
I had a perfectly fine library before, then decided to wipe the library and reimport the files – since then, many (but not all) of my manually ripped tracks cut off early.
In some cases, I'm able to delete the cut-off track from my local library and download the matched counterpart from the iCloud, but this will not consistently fix the problem.
All those files play fine and to the end in Finder's QuickLook.
I suspect there's a problem with the gapless playback analysis. So, the question is: is there a way to change/delete the results of that gapless playback analysis, probably with an AppleScript?

Apr 23, 2012 4:48 PM in response to edwardfrommoseleyby jfid017,I have recently moved my library to my new hp laptop. Ever since i transferred them from my dell desktop, a great amount of songs stop playing before they are supposed to. For example, every song on my Velvet Revolver album Contraband stops playing at exactly 3 min and 27 sec. What is causing this? I had XP on the dell and windows 7 on the hp if that means anything. I am admittedly tech-tarded so any help is greatly appreciated.

Apr 24, 2012 3:58 AM in response to edwardfrommoseleyby CJinNZ,Just adding my voice as somebody who is getting this issue. Resetting my library as suggested earlier in the thread is impractical for me - I have a lot of non-matched content, mainly podcasts, radio shows and private recordings. It would amount to an upload of many GB and I don't have a very high data cap. I don't want to have to re-up those files again, especially if it might just happen again. C'mon Apple, quit ignoring this issue!

Apr 24, 2012 6:17 AM in response to CJinNZby matthewfromconifer,Does anyone know of a tech guru site where this questions could be posted? Maybe it would get a response and shame Apple into at least admitting the problem. Glad to see it's not jsut me, but it's really maddening that there's no help on their end at all.

Apr 25, 2012 12:50 PM in response to edwardfrommoseleyby LadySoul,I deleted the songs that were affected and downloaded them from the previosly purchased page ONE at a time. iTunes should advise customers this. It is time consuming, but I have not had anymore skipping since.
Hope this helps.

Apr 26, 2012 7:13 AM in response to edwardfrommoseleyby Scott Hedrick,I have been following this due to the same issues. It seems like a lot of the songs that had the problems were ones that imported the entire playlist at once from the cloud rather than individual songs but it is not consistent.
I did try to delete a song and then download it again from the cloud but it did not work. I also tried plugging my iphone into my computer but it would not allow me to sync that way saying I needed to use the cloud.
I have found at least 10 songs so far that stop around 2:40 seconds in to them. Same problem on iphone and ipad with same songs. I have not set up my touch to this so I can at least keep what I had on there (I have too many of these "I" things).
Hopefully we get a report back on the report that Scenario reported. Maybe more of us should try as well to go the official route but it seemed confusing that there were options to "pay by incident" to report these.
If anyone knows the best way to file the issue directly with them we should all do it to put the pressure on.

Apr 26, 2012 7:23 AM in response to Scott Hedrickby matthewfromconifer,I know this is posted under the Match heading, but for me the problen precedes iMatch -- I actually tried to use Match to try and resolve it -- it made sense, if Cloud was sending me new versions of the same songs.
Right now, I'm thinking it's a code - identifyer issue within iTunes. I don't know how it can be fixed, because every thing that's been suggested on this thread I've tried in one way or another, and it still persists.
But I wanted to ask if I was alone in it preceeding Match, or have most of you only had it occur after Match?

Apr 26, 2012 7:38 AM in response to matthewfromconiferby surfermike00,For me, the issue is specific to iTunes match, and began upon enabling the service on my iPhone 4S.
I am even able to revert the behavior for the majority of the misbehaving tracks by disabling iTunes match and syncing my music the old fashioned way via iTunes after deleting all songs from my iPhone 4S. However, this is not convenient and defeats the purpose of paying for iTunes Match, so I hope there is a fix available very soon.

Apr 27, 2012 6:49 AM in response to surfermike00by eyedocpa,Still no answers from Apple. I do not use cloud for my Itunes. Corruption occured when I updated with latest version from Apple. For people that are manually replacing songs that skip: what happens when you do your next update? Will it undo the corrections you spent so much time correcting?
