Cannot Access Calendar On iCloud.com or iCal App

When trying to access my calendar on icloud.com I get a notification "Cannot Load Calendar" with the option of "Reload," "Report to Apple," and "Close Calendar."

When trying to refresh my calendar in iCal (on my iMac and MacBook Air), I get the notificaiton, "The server responded with an error. The server responded with “500” to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation."

Any others experiencing this issue? Solutions?

I had this very same thing happen to me today. Here was how it is set up:

I have 3 apple ID's.... A business ID, a personal ID, and my wifes ID. I am using the business ID as my main calendar (for a variety of reasons which I'll not go into here) and am sharing my personal ID and my wifes ID with the business calendar (both with read/write privileges - allowing me to make changes to personal events while viewing the business calendar).

To my surprise, I get this same message today at noon "cannot load calendar" so I called tech support and they are a bit baffled by the matter. I'm transfered to a senior staff member who says the matter needs to go to engineering for "back end" analysis (I know, sounds funny). So they reset my password to a temp password so they can get into the business ID. I decided to quit sharing my personal calendar and my wifes calendar while they were doing their analysis. Problem is, I can't sign into my wifes account because Apple blocked her ID (tech said that'll happen after a certain period if the ID is not used to make a purchase or some such - a security thing I guess). I reset her password then signed into her account and stopped sharing her cal with the business ID. But I got to thinking, "I wonder if, because I had given the business ID read/write privileges, I wonder if Apple wouldn't allow the business Calendar to show up so that I wouldn't be able to manipulate a Calendar that was associated with a Blocked ID." Sure enough (while on the phone with the tech) I tried signing back into the Business Calendar and ba-da-bing it worked!! The "cannot load calendar" message went away and the calendar loads up perfectly! I went back and shared my personal Calendar from my personal Apple ID and my wifes Calendar from her personal Apple ID (of course un-blocked now) and it still works!!

Net upshot (it seems) is if you have a shared calendar from someone else and they've given you read/write privileges and their Apple ID gets blocked for some reason - guess who's going to see the "cannot load calendar" message when they try to access their calendar through iCloud.com? Yeppers, that's right - YOU!!!

So to turn my story into a concise solution:

Make sure all calendars (shared with the calendar your trying to view) are being shared by Apple ID's that are not blocked.

Hope this helps :-)

I was having the same problem. When I used iCal on my MacBook, I got an error message saying the exact same thing. Same error message on iCloud calendar as well. I also share calendars with my wife's icloud account, so I logged into that and found out that they had locked the password for some reason. I updated her password, logged back in to my account, and the calendars both loaded. Went back to the iCal app on my MacBook and it worked perfectly.

Thanks for solving my problem!

Thanks so much—this solved my problem too! Exactly what cpj357 described—I couldn't get at my iCloud calendars at all, although I could get at all my other data just fine, and my wife (who is sharing a calendar with me) had the same symptoms. But, when she tried to log in to the icloud.com Web site, she got a message saying her account had been locked for (unknown) security reasons and that her password had to be reset. Once she did that, all our calendars came online again.

It sure would have been nice if Apple had actually informed her of her need to reset her password rather than just waiting until she randomly tried logging in to the iCloud site, and it would have been nicer still if Apple had shown me some useful error message that might have given me some clue about the cause of the problem rather than just blocking ALL my calendars. Geesh! But anyway, it's working now.

Now the situation is ...

Hi !

After readin your answer, i thought everything would be easy. But ...

My friend did not remember one answer to security questions to be able te make a new password on her iTunes account. She contacted the iTunes helpdesk who asked for the same questions than the normal security process on the apple "iforgot.apple".

She gaves all the possible answers, but the answer to one question she doesnot remember.

iTunes helpdesk refuses to make a new password. So far, I don't understand the use of the iTunes Helpdesk compare to the website iforgot.apple ... same questions, sames consequences, not help, no issues !

So we created a new Apple ID for my friend, but as you know, this does not work to make MY account run correctly, because of a bug in the iCloud application. I still cannot have a correct iCal because of the iCloud bug application !!

So now :

1 - APPLE decides to stop the account of my friend because of what they call security reasons, which are not prooved yet ! It's just because she did not buy anything with her account !

2 - My iCloud and iTunes account is bloqued so far, and i PAID for the services

3 - So far, APPLE did not corrected the bug on the iCloud system

What can i do ?

1 - Make a new iTunes account ? I loose all what i bought on the first account !

2 - Wait ? All my calendars are wrong, i cannot use them anymore, and i paid for this service !!!

Do you have an answer ?

How long before Apple can make a correction ? Months ? Years ? Because, for them, it's MY fault !

So, finally, still asking and waiting for a correct answer from APPLE !!

Well, we weren't sharing calendars in my case. I didn't realize I was sharing until I closed my wife's iTunes and reopened it then was told there was a problem with the login and to sign out and back in to the iTunes store. As soon as I signed her out from iTunes, my iCal and iCloud Calendar stared working again.

But...in order to get her logged back into her account I had to go sign into http://appleid.apple.com on her system to get everything to start working again (couldn't sign her back into iTunes until I did that).

Annoying....😠 It should "just work".

Cannot Access Calendar On iCloud.com or iCal App
