Mission Control / Spaces?

I've just upgraded to Lion 10.7.2 coming from 10.6

I really liked Spaces as I regularly use 2 porgrams or more at once, so splitting into 4 on screen to switch between programs.

Now Spaces has gone in 10.7.2 and its Mission Control. And this just seems to be a single setting whereby I just seem to get expose?

I use the bottom left corner to activate spaces (or mission control now) but can't see any settings for Mission Control - is it a better option than Spaces?

Any tips, welcome! as it seems a step back at the moment?

MacBook Pro i7 8GB - iPhone 4, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

I use the 4 finger swipe up gesture to enter mission control. You can also set up a hot corner for the same purpose. To add more desktops, move your cursor to the top, right side of the screen and a tab with a + sign slides in. Click to add another desktop.

A visit to Apple's website will provide information and tutorials on how to use all the features of Lion. Another place to look is Apple - Support - Mac 101.

In Mission Control just slide your mouse to the upper right corner, click on the big plus icon to create a new space.

Thanks, yes just got this and added 4 desktops..

I opened different programs and dragged them to different desktops hoping they would open in this order again and I unticked the "automatically rearrange"..

Then I open the programs again, and they all open on the same desktop 1?

Not sure i've got the hang of this?

Right click the icon on the dock and select: Options > Assign to > This desktop. (Make sure you're on the proper desktop 🙂)

Ok thanks - that makes sense, but not obvious, when youve come from spaces! 🙂

Its a shame they didn't bring across the Spaces thing, of 4 screens dividing into 'quarters' on the screen which i found easier to navigate to - especially with a Hot corner..

Now it seems they just sit at the top...?
