Is there a way to tell how much memory all my photos are using? So I can reserve a partition on an external drive for them

Is there a way to tell how much memory all my photos are using? So I can reserve a partition on an external drive for them and free up that space on an otherwise rather cramped main hard drive.

Product is iPhoto '09 (but that wasn't a choice on the drop down list of apps.)

iPhoto '08, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

It's not "memory" the pics are using, it's Disk Space.

Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. File -> Get Info on it and it will tell you the size.
