What is your concept of a hard reset? Charge the phone for 30 minutes with the wall charger, then disconnect and hold HOME and SLEEP at the same time for AT LEAST 15 SECONDS (use a clock or a watch) or until an Apple logo appears. If nothing appears your phone is broken. If an icon showing iTunes and a USB plug appears connect to your computer and restore.

i just experienced an odd problem. Last night, i turned OFF my iphone before going to sleep (as i do every night, and i would turn it back on when i wake up). This morning, i tried turning on my iphone and nothing happened! i tried charging it (using several different chargers btw) and it wouldnt turn on at all.

But after looking at this forum, i did a hard reset and it was finally able to turn on again.

Does anyone know what this problem might be? Even though i got it working already, i'd like to know what might be the cause of it so i can avoid this issue in the future.
