My iPad isn't connecting to my wifi

Hello everyone!

This will be my first ever post so here it goes!

My iPad 2 isn't connecting to my wifi. When I go to my settings it by "Wi-Fi" it shows the name of my wifi as if in connected and on the top left hand corner it displays the signal bars but when I open safari it tells me I'm not connected. Also under the choices of wifi's to choose from that loading circle is by my wifi and takes forever to become a check mark. I waited for over 3hours yesterday to see if it would ever change but nothing!

Can anyone help me please?!?

The iPad sees the network and can pickup the signal but its not connected to the network.

Reboot your router - unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in. If the iPad will still not connect - restart it.

Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

If that doesn't work go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings and try again.
