Q: Error message trying to burn InstallESD.dmg

I was trying to burn a backup copy of the Installesd.dmg to a dvd.    Using disk utility to burn the file to the dvd, I received a message after the burning process and the ejection of the dvd:

"Unable to burn "InstallESD.dmg *(The disc didn't respong properly and can't recover or retry)

Is this a problem with my dvd burner?  or another problem?

Thanks

Brett

Don't have a clue, but try this: mount the dmg file and then use Disk Utility to restore it to DVD. Better, restore it to a 10 GB empty partition. Using that results in significantly faster installs than using anything DVD or USB.

Maybe this is no longer a problem for you.  But I was having the same problem trying to create the Lion Boot Disk so I will maybe help others.  Try running Disk Utility in an Administrative account.  That fixed it for me.
