Can't move songs in playlist
I am not able to move songs in my playlist. I've tried dragging the song but it doesn't work.

I have shuffle turned off btw. I've tried everything and the songs won't change position. I've had this problem before.
Thank you. I created another playlist, not a smart playlist, and I was able to move the songs around.
Actually, it wasn't a smart playlist problem. (I don't create smart playlists generally, I choose normal playlists when I create new playlists.)
It happened again last night.
I realized that the little arrow at the top of the leftmost column was missing. When I clicked in the space, the arrow appeared and I was able to rearrange the songs.
If you click on "Artist" etc, the arrow disappears and it looks like you can't move the songs. As Jim says, you have to make the arrow appear.
If it's a smart playlist, you can't re-order it.
I am able to re-order songs in a smart playlist as long as I have the far left column selected. What you can't do with a smart playlist is add or remove items manually. You can change the order though, even with a smart playlist.
Thank you so much bro. Is incredible how many hidden stuff are in Apple's products...Discovering new every day.
Thanks for help real nightmare having to delete all playlists individually.
I had this problem too. However I tried by opening the playlist and going to the "Songs" link on the right hand side of the tool bar. Click on that and you will see a "sort by" button. Click on that and choose "Manual Order". You will then be able to drag the songs up or down in the playlist.
I've got this problem ever since upgrading to Yosemite 10.10.3 (14D136).
I've tried all the above but none of that's working for me. Any other ideas.
Yeah, same thing here. I got nothing. I've updated to Yosemite and now my iTunes is useless. I cannot move purchased songs to my iPod and I can no longer re-order my existing music. I was a big fan Macs and the iPod but frankly, it's just not worth the hassle any more. Unless I can find a reasonable way to manipulate my music, I'll just go back to PC platforms and music on my phone.
Is there a picture of how you can show me to not create a smart playlist on my iPhone because with every playlist I create the same problem occurs.
