How do I force a sync of some documents in Pages/iOS ?

I tried to restore my iPad to an iCloud backup and I've only received back some (about 1/2) of my Pages documents. The others are listed there but the black Pages icon shows an up arrow. Nothing will get them to come up in edit mode. I can see them in iCloud.com/iWork but they also can't be downloaded from there, it appears as if they are corrupted. Please help.
