I bought my iPhone 4 from someone with 6 months of applecare left on the phone. The phone was opened, it is missing screws and such. The home button doesn't work, and the screen has a small crack. I also can't get reception so I'm guessing the antenna on the motherboard is broken. Will apple cover this?

Damage is not covered.
If it has been opened, then it is void.
You can have them look at it and see, but is is extremely doubtful that they will do anything.

If the crack in the screen was caused by physcial damage (dropping it) they will most likely do nothing with your phone because you dropping it may have caused the antenna to break. Apple care has many things that it covers, and can be great.

Q. Why would somebody sell a broken iPhone with 6 months of Applecare cover remaining, Why not get Apple to fix it first?
A. Probably because Apple had already refused to fix it under warranty if it was obviously tampered with.
note: Applecare+ covers two instances of accidental damage for a £49 nominal fee.

If this is true then it was definately a very kind rep that made a large exception to the program.
As with any warranty, Applecare does not cover damage at all.

Manufacturing defects, like every other warranty.
He must ve claimed through insurance or paid £119 for a replacement phone to apple 🙂
Apple Care doesn't cover Customer Induced Damage (CID) other than that, like the hardware fails, it's pretty much covered. 
It covers EVERYTHING apart from accidental damage for two years from date of purchase. If the device has been opened apple won't touch it.
It Covers Everything apart from accidental damage for ONE year here in the UK.!!!

Applecare extends the warranty by 1 year to 24 months as in all other regions
It is now Applecare +

Will applecare cover this?
