Dec 20, 2011 8:48 AM in response to Jeremy Stoberby Jeremy Stober,Ok - More info - I went back in and tried some other Apps - thought maybe size of the App was the issue - and some of them load - and some of them still will cause profile manager to hang - or give the above message. Wonder if it is now what version of xcode they were made with or not? Any other thoughts out there on this?

Dec 20, 2011 9:45 PM in response to Jeremy Stoberby luke_222,Look at the logs in
/var/log/devicemgr/profilemanager.log
Or in the system log.
If you do see an exception, the source code for Profile Manager is in the
/usr/share/devicemgr
You can look in there and try to find out what is causing the problem.
I would try with the latest release build of Xcode, if anything.

Thanks for the offer. I moved to the point of now being able to enrol my Mac and iDevices. The <server>/mydevices web page started to add a 'trust' profile. Since this 'appeared' I can down load it, install, then the devies enrole.
Many hours of playing, and now reading the
Apple Pro Training Series: OS X Lion Server Essentials
Really surprised on the lack of Apple Documentation.
Once again THANK YOU for the offer.

Jan 16, 2012 5:27 PM in response to amorfhiaby McArenas,On our test environment... we were able to test-push commercial app and it is working. Here's how we did it:
1. On the Profile Manager server's iTunes, setup the iTunes account that was used to purchase the apps.
2. Download all the purchased apps. You can quickly do it by going thru the Purchased section of the iTunes store and click download all.
3. Using the Profile Manager, upload the app.
3. Physically connect the device at least once to the Profile Manager server. Somehow, it is writing some plist file to the mobile device that will eventually authorize the device to run the apps.
From then on... you can push apps OTA.
However, we bumped into these problems:
1. There are some apps that we failed to upload for some reasons (i.e. PNG header check)
2. This will eventually generate error like this:
the error is irratating but we are still able to push apps OTA.

Jun 20, 2013 1:09 PM in response to amorfhiaby TriadMac,Has anyone found a fix, I am having the same issue and it is bringing the company to its nees as we have new devices to deploy and we cant push them apps because when we try to update the app it fails with a generic "Server Issue" PLEASE HELP if anyone has found a solution. I would hate to have to reinroll all of the devices again and start from scratch.
