Refurbished come from china?

Jonathan did you get your Refurbished Ipad in yet? What is your thoughts on it. I saw that APPLE had the Ipad 1 with 32 gig and ATT 3g for 400.00 each on their web site. I purchased two of them for my parents for Christmas. Both are in their 80's so they won't be heavy users and need to learn how to use the Ipads. But for 400.00 each I took a flyer on them.

I got the shipping information from Fed X showing shipped from SHENZHEN CN which is where new units are made. Do they do the refurbishing of the units in China? I would have thought Apple would have done that domestically due to shipping costs. Could these be new and called refurbished?

All iPads and iPhones are actually made in China so it makes sense they'd operate refurbishment centers there too.
