My iphone 4s will not make outgoing calls consistently. The phone I am calling will ring and when the person picks up the phone I can not hear them and they can not hear me. Happpens atleast 80% of the time. Location is not an issue. My husband has an iphone 4s with the same carrier. He can be standing right next to me and his call will be fine. I have a signal since the call is being sent to the other phone. Any ideas?

I am also having the same issue. The person on the other end can hear me but all I hear is myself echoing. If I hang up and call again, it works fine. I'm thinking about taking my phone in.
i have actually had a friend say my iphone 4s was echoing as well but i do not hear the echo it just echos on his side of the phone not mine so i figured its his phone and he thinks it's mine but i cant hear the person but they can hear me just fine so i am wondering if its a firmware issue or a hardware issue?
reset your network settings and that should work if it doesnt, try the hard reset, and then ultimately restore the phone as new.
Got my Iphone for Christmas and since then I have had to hard reset it THREE times. Today is going to be number 4. My partner also got an Iphone for Christmas and has never experienced this type of fault. Could it be related to a hardware fault?
