Then it's not installed. Can you tell us what's behind your question? Asking how to delete an app that you can't find suggests to me that you're having some kind of problem that you are (perhaps inappropritely) attributing to that app.
Tap and hold icon, when icons begin to wiggle, tap X in top corner. Push home button to return to normal.

Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately I did'nt see the icon anywhere to do so. So, what can I do to find it?

Check all screens, check existing folders.

Go to settings, general, usage. There u will find all installed apps. Tap Skype if it shows and then delete the app.
