MacBook (2007) Superdrive not working.

I've a Macbook from 2007 and I haven't stressed my superdrive, I haven't burned a lot of cds. Just a rare use.

I read that is a common problem of these kind of macbooks.

that's the kind of Superdrive I've:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------

MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-857E:

Firmware Revision: ZB0E

Interconnect: ATAPI

Burn Support: Yes (Apple Shipping Drive)

Cache: 2048 KB

Reads DVD: Yes

CD-Write: -R, -RW

DVD-Write: -R, -R DL, -RW, +R, +R DL, +RW

Write Strategies: CD-TAO, CD-SAO, DVD-DAO

Media: To show the available burn speeds, insert a disc and choose View > Refresh

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------

It does not read anymore dvd's and now also not cds. Tries to read, cds/dvds rotating, lens moving and than there is an automatically eject.

Is there a kind of warranty or something like that from Apple?

I know my Macbook is old, but I also know that it's a very common problem on these kind of products for many many people.

Thanks

Francesco
