iPad gmail problems with password acceptance

Why does my iPad refuse to accept my password allow a sudden? I have reset it , deleted and reentered my account,I have turned off my iPad and,reset it. And I have done all three in various orders. Nothing has worked . How do I get my email up and running again?

had the same problem. went to my gmail account and then to my Account settings in gmail - then went to security & then 2step verification. It's confusing, but there is a link in 2-step verification that will tell you how to put a "new" password they give you on your iPad so your iPad will accept gmail. click the link. it gives you the new password and explains what to do on your iPad. hope this helps
