calendar list shows a blank white square

When I try to choose a calendar to add events to by clicking on the "calendar" button I get a blank white square with no calendars listed. I can add events I just can't change which calendar they're going to be entered on in advance. It's annoying.

I have Lion and also have Busycal installed. I just use Busycal now but iCal was working even after the Lion upgrade and it just started this behavior in the last few days
