Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085
When I first got my iPhone 4S, I was told my only way to receive texts in vibrate mode was to toggle the switch toward the display screen... But all my sounds in my games still worked... Now they don't... What happened??
1. Double-click the Home button and swipe Task Bar to the right
2. Check the volume and mute settings

Hi everyone...I had this problem and THE FIRST thing you should check is the toggle on the side of your Iphone 5 or 4...just above the buttons for volume there is the button to MUTE the phone. Click this back on and hopefully this will work. Otherwise be sure to go into settings/notification center to ensure all of your 'sounds' are clicked on in the various apps. Hope this helps!
