Qmaster Preference Pane Greyed Out

Hi,

I submitted a compressor job to my virtual cluster today and it said "compressord wants to make some changes" (or something similar). I've been using this workflow for many weeks. I searched the internet, and then found out it wasn't some trojan and entered my password. It didn't take my password.

I was logged in as an admin account.

I opened up System Preferences and QMaster options are greyed out (lock off)

I put the lock on, and took the lock off again, no help.

I force quit compressor (the job length was 5 x longer than normal)

I used compressor repair.

System Preferences / Qmaster still greyed out.

I rebooted.

Same thing.

I launched compressor and submitted the job with 'this computer' and it works fine.

I would like to fix this problem. Thoughts? Reinstall would be my last option at this point.

Using Lion 10.7, with Final Cut Studio 3.

Thanks

I solved my problem although I am not sure how or why it occured in the first place.

Anyway, it was one of these two things that fixed it, not sure, but it's working so I'm not complaining.

First:

I went to "Advanced" on the Qmaster preference pane (forgot to try before), stopped sharing services.

Reset sharing services.

Recreated the 4 clusters on my 8 core mac.

Started sharing services.

Second:

Set read write permissions for the Preference Panes Folder (and subfolders)

Resubmitted Job under cluster and it worked fine.
