why won't my ipad 2 charge on laptop when in dock

Ipad requires high power USB port for battery charging and obviuosly your laptop USB is not. Although it shows not charging, it does charge but very slowly if you turn off the screen.

Have you tried all your USB ports as my iPod only charges on one !!
