Charged the iphone 4 up last night. Went to check this morning and screen was blank. Held all buttons down for 10 seconds each and no response. Connectec that charger up and after a few seconds it asked me to connect to itunes. I could only connect to itunes or make emergency calls. Tried ringing the phone but went to message bank. Software is up to date as of about 3 days ago.
I have had no issues up to this point.
Um... have you tried connecting it to iTunes like it told you?
I have tried everything that the web tell me to do from the home screen button to the on/off button and both togehter.
I have it connected to my laptop and it wont even recognise te iphone. Tells me it could not be restored unknown error (21). Turned off virus protection, as I have not had a problem with it in the past, and it still wont resognise the iphone.
Only option is to take it to store and send it away for repair but it as just ran out of warranty.
I think you should consider restoring it to factory setting. This is what solves most difficult problems. I don't think it can be that hassle because you just upgraded if now.
Problem is, is that it is not letting me restore it. Have tried numerous way but no luck

device hasnt been modified it still comes up with error 21 and that is as far as it gets. itunes wont recognise it,
If it has not been modified, hacked, jailbroken, unlocked by your local phone shop, then it has physically failed.
I had one last try last night, it just wont do anything, be recognised by itunes on my system and the shops and still nothing. Now I can't get a replacement because the warranty went a couple of months ago and so locked to a contract for another 10 months.
iTunes just keeps telling me its in recovery mode. Keeps giving me error 21 message.
