ATI 5770 HoolockParent driver needed , yes or no ?

guys,

just installed the 5770 on my Macpro 1.1; booting time is considerably slower than with my old 1900X, and in the profiler it shows that here's no HoolockParent driver installed; i already down graded to 10.6 and upgraded again installing the apple combo package, but nothing changes.Therefore all i would like to know: do i need it or not ?

See my other post, you do NOT need it and it does not affect performance.

Check your system.log ... that should display any issues that might be causing a slow boot.

FYI, the 5770 MUST be in the slot 1. There is an Expansion Slot Utility you can run to check slot speeds (1X,4X,8X,16X). See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2838

I'm runnig Lion and the same thing shows for me, I think Rob is correct.
