Installing anything from Norton on a Mac is a terrible mistake, and installing any other commercial antivirus software is nearly as bad. There are no Mac viruses, and you can protect yourself against all known Mac Trojans just by not installing anything that comes from an untrusted source. If you feel you just HAVE to have AV software, use the free, open-source ClamXav, which won't cripple your machine like the commercial junk will.
