How do I transfer my old IPad to a new owner?
iPad, Windows XP
restore it to factory default deleting everything on it
when you connect your ipad to your computer and open itunes you see a groupbox called Version
it contain a button called restore
to the right of the button you see text saying
"If you experiencing problems with your ipad, you can restore its original settings by clicking restore."
Deleting everything?!
When you "Restore as new," everything is deleted.
I restored my ipad as new and sold it. I want to transfer the registered owner from me to the new owner. How do I do this?
You do not - the new owner must go to the Apple website and register him/her self as the new owner (this involves entering his/her email address and the serial number of the iPad.
See my answer above.
This post closely matches my question..so I'll make this post here. I'm pretty sure I know the answer but wanted to get confirmation. I will be transferring ownership of my iPad 1st gen soon. I will be returning it to factory setting before. When the new owner goes to set it up, it will prompt her for all the IOS updates, right? So here is my kinda dumb question...all the updates that I did, excluding apps, were "no charge" correct? I wouldn't want her to have to pay for any iOS updates... Thanks for answering my "kinda dumb" question.. I will be replacing my very well taken care of, but used every day 1st gen iPad with a new iPad mini! Thanks
