Planning on getting a 4S soon but am really financially limited to the 16g model. I currently have about 2300 photos on my 3GS and tons of room to spare. I'm wondering how quick the 8 mgpxl pix will eat up 16gigs? So...roughly what size are they? Do u have the option of setting the resolution?
no option for resolution on all iphone , it 'll max resolution at iphone version đ i thinks you need to buy a 32gb iPhone if you want to take many picture
About 1.5 to 4 MB per photo.
As long as you're using the phone as designed it won't be an issue. By that I mean, regularly copying the pictures off the device to a computer and then re-syncing them. When the pictures are synced via iTunes they are optimized for the device, which means a much smaller file size.
Thanks diesel. That makes sense that they are sized down a bit got the phone (buy the photos will retain original size/rez in my folders on my PC from which I sync them to the phone via iTunes right?).
Yes... pictures copied to the iPhone will retain the original size/resolution.
Now I'm confused. Thought u meant they would be original size on computer, yet sized down when sync'd back into iPhone (I arrange them into folders on my PC, then sync to iPhone where they are then basically "albums")

The pictures when copied from the iPhone to the computer retain the original size/resolution and quality.
When synced from the computer back to the iPhone they are optimized for the iPhones display and because of this are much smaller file sizes.
