MobileBackups disk

I have noticed a MobileBackups disk both in iStat Pro dashboard and when I Go to Folder '/Volumes'. The capacity of the disk is the size of my hard drive 750 GB and the disk contains an exact copy of my hard drive. Where did this come from?

Hi,

I run a MBP with a 60GB SSD Boot drive and use a spinning drive for my user folder. I have been running into this low disk space problem on my boot drive. Is there some way I can move the mobile backups folder to store on my spinning drive so it has ample space to continue local snapshots and free up my boot drive space? Where is this folder located?
