how do i install itunes on ipad 2

I have taken my new ipad 2 out of the box....no instructions...and that is as far as i have got...it is fully charged and i have the itune logo on front and that is it..i am completely lost

You install iTunes on your computer and then connect the iPad to it and you should then be guided through setting it up - Getting started guide : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4053

iTunes is installed on your computer, not on your iPad.

thank you...what happens to the poor sods who don't have a laptop and just wanted an ipad only... it isnt clear on the manual at all i reckon but i'm 55 today and feel 155 just looking at all the icons and working out the wep drove me insane..but thanks - seems to be on track although 4 hours to download one item seems a bit rich..

thanks marion...i would have thought a step by step instruction manual would have been included not a general user guide that presumes you have a clue...xxx i think i'm on track xxx

Once you have set up your iPad with iTunes on a computer it's really not that much need of the computer anymore, considering you are purchasing music and movies through iTunes Shop on your iPad, and not transfering them to the iPad from a computer.

iTunes on the computer is just used for 1st-time setup, should not be necessary in the future.
