iphone caller id problem

there is a known issue in iphone with unsupported countries phone numbers that iphone doesnt show the name of the caller due to the difference in formatting it doesnt understand that the number is the same with the address book contact.

like numbers in iran.

this problem is EASILY fixed by a jailbreak tweak named caller id fix! that adds the required formatting for many other countries

i wanted to know if there is a fix without jailbreaking for this issue

and if there is not a non jailbreak answer i BEG apple to fix this SIMPLE issue by adding the required formattings for all countries. if a jailbreak tweak can do it surely apple can too! (its just adding new formatts to a plist file!)

this is not just a problem for iran and is common through nearly all unsupported countries

for me this problem is the ONLY reason i jailbreak my iphone!

i have an iphone 3gs (new bootrom) with 4.3.1

iPhone 3GS, iOS 4.3.1

Hi! I am from Bangladesh. My phone is experiencing the same problem. When a caller calls me I can see his number only not his name. I am using a iPhone 3GS with iOS 5.1.1. It was a gift from my younger brother.

Probem/Trouble:

When a caller calls, I can see only callers phone number.

Tried:

I've imported the contacts from my old phone with a software named "bump" but the problem persist. Tried with the iPhone contact the problem continues. I've deleted all the contacts and created new again the problem continues. II have tried in different ways to make it work but all are in vain. Read various forum but it didn't work for me. I've enabled my "Caller ID in the Settings>General>Network", Nope! tried "Resetting >Netwrok" again Nah! I went CRAZY! ....Man how can it be possible to remember 200 persons name and their numbers!

Solution:

Well I have come up with a temporary solution; I hope there is a proper solution......may be the next iOS update will fix it for us. Well the solution is, very raw.....When you get a call receive it first. After the conversation is over; from the recent call list add the caller as a new contact, from the next call of that caller you'll see his name. I've also found from "sms" you can create new contact as well and it works too.

I hope Apple developers are wise guy and will give us a simple do it solution. If anybody have new ways to work it please assist.
