Can someone assist - I am trying to set up voicemail on a factory unlocked Iphone 4s.
Cannot connect to voicemail - Call service provider.
on home screen of phone. click the green phone icon below so that recent call list, contacts, favorites, keypad and voicemail pops up. to very right is your voicemail tab. click it. you can set up voice mail through there without having to call anyone. it all setups right there. simple!
Where did you purchase the iPhone4s, in which country are you trying to use it and which carrier
Well, have you gotten your phone on a cellular plan yet? The voicemail is part of whatever carrier you sign with, if you don't have a carrier yet, you don't have a voicemail.
I have a carrier/plan, but they do not support visual voicemail so I need to know how to setup my maibox - i.e. set the voicemail button/icon to dial a specific number, my mailbox?
How do I do that as when I click on the voicemail icon I get the message "Cannot connect to voicemail - Call service provider" and there is no option to set-up a vmail number.
Would anyone be able to assist?

Yes, I have called my service provider and they don't know why the issue arose or how to solve it. So can anyone assist further?
i have this issue as well. my voicemail button worked fine on mu iphone 4 but since upgrading to the 4s. i cant press it anymore its saying Connot connect to voicemail. Contac service provider for assistance.

Here is the code to set up your voicemail.. Type the voicemail number(the number you dial from your phone) instead of the dots.
*5005*86*............#
If it is incorrectly dialling another number, type this code.*5005*86*#. It should delete any incorrect numbers configured there.
This may not work if your carrier settings override the voicemail button configuration.
