When I unplug my iPad2 from charger, goes dead. Bad battery?

Help! I have an iPad2 which my boss bought for me (reconditioned.) I have had no problems with it prior to the past few days, batterly has been great as it has lasted all day with Wi-Fi turned on and fairly constant use. Mid last week, I was "playing" with the settings and turned auto lock to "never." It stayed on all night and eventually drained the battery. It was completely dead when I woke up the next morning.

I pluged it in and let it charge for a few hours. When I came back it was at 1%, would turn on for a 4-5 seconds, and then shut down. I checked my wall charger (knockoff) and it was a 5w charger. I went out and bought an Apple iPad charger, with new cable, plugged it in and it has been charging ULTRA slow. 4 days later, it is only at 22% and has actually been stuck at 22% for the past 24 hours!

The weird part of this is that when I unplug from the mini connector, the iPad shuts down completely and immediately. It does not matter if I disconnect it from the mini connector, or unplug from the charger, it simply goes dead. I can't turn it on (It should run at 22%, correct?) I can not use the "Hold power and home button" trick, it will not turn on.

I did a complete restore with no changes...

So, I don't know if it is a battery issue, a mini-connector issue, or just a piece of junk (which is why I would never buy a used one, but like I said, my boss bought it for me so I can't complain too much!)

Thoughts, Ideas, comments?

Thanks in advance!

Try resetting it by holding down the home and sleep key until it shows the silver apple and let it reboot. THen turn it off and let it charge powered down. If it doesn't resolve itself and charge after a few hours, then totally discharging it may have messed up the battery. You may need to take it to an apple store or where he bought it and see if they can do anything.

I have exactly the same problem. Mine always showing 100% charge, but as soon I unplug it it turns off and wouldn't turn back on, unless I put it on the charger and it always restarts then. Resetting with home and turn on button doesnt work and not waking up either when I plug it into iMac.

So, I took it to a genius appointment to the apple shop (in Robina Aus.) and they said that they never seen this matter and offered me to replace it for $275, as its 2 years old and out of warranty. I didnt go with this offer, as there is life in my iPad and must be a solution for this...

Let me know if you find a solution
