Resume templates

I'm not very mac or pc savy, I have installed (pages) from i-work cuz it was suggested to have nice template options I can use to help build an awesome resume. I would argue the templates for resumes I have found leave much to be desired for my wants. I dont think the app was a tottal wast, but is a wast for my current needs. I need know what has the nicest "eye catching" templates to work with for a resume within a budget of around $50-75.

Also id there a way to "preview" the templates prior to purchase. I would not have bought this app if I could have previewed the templates in advance.

Thanks all,

C.F.P.

Or any budget, come to that.

But you are expressing rather non-specific tastes.

Hunt the Internet for whatever you think is good, and yes most sites will let you see at least thumbnails of the templates.

If you are seeking a job, and don't want to give too much away, you might want to get someone else to type your CV for you as well.

I saw no trail option for pages app. There is only 17 templates to choose from, and non of these are appealing to me. I also have searched, many hrs to no luck for templates to view/purchase.

I know office pro for windows has some very nice templates, however the price is just to much. None of the 3rd party stuff I have seen has previews of the templates except a couple, and they was the same old same old.

Nothing I would want to pay for, the stuff I see can easily enough be done from scratch.

My non specific tasts is a template with outstanding page back gounds, like woodgrain, carbon fiber, expanded steel ect, or at least multiple layouts for pics, ect.

Needing to do it myself, just need the best templates available for my budget, I dont want to wast my money and energy on an additional program that doesnt have anything thats worthy.

Thanks all,

There is no "trail" option for Pages as a standalone app from the app store or the Mac app store. There is a "trial" version of iWork '09 (which includes Pages, Numbers and Keynote) available from the iWork page at apple.com. The 30 day trial is of the full package, including templates, and differes from the 'real' application only by being no longer able to save files after the 30 days have passed.

Barry

PS: If you posts here are an accurate sample of your typing, Peter's suggestion regarding getting someone else to type your CV is well-taken.

LOL, I dont concern myself on forums with accuracy, thanks though for your suggestion. My buddies have tried to get me to take more time on my grammar, but the enterest isnt there. My wife will double check anything I do to check for mistakes, and to give additional input. ( I'm just a roughneck, she's the one who'd edjucated )

I have just decided the hrs spent searching already is wated time best used towrds the project. Like I said, I'm not real computer savy, 3 hrs using pages and my eye catching cover page is roughed in, my wife is impressed. She has found mistakes, but its basically done. I would guess from time spent already on the project that I need another 8-12 hrs to complete entirely to my liking.

I really wish it had some more templates to choose from but the app was well worth the cost IMO.

And IMO a person with little to no real skills can create a simple resume in an evening if you already

have your info ready.

An increadably striking resume is within reach for the user with no experience, but will take ample time

to complete mostly to accomodat for the learning curve of the user.

Thanks all,
