I'm really afraid that I fried my MacBook Pro in some freak power surge in Peru. But then I saw some other people say theirs stopped working too.
Yes they can. They are approved by Apple to do any and all repairs/troubleshooting. If you go, be sure to bring both the charger and the mac. You might be able to fix this yourself. Read this first: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1713
